Wake up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee and baked goods
Every morning Hillard House is full of the smells of coffee,muffins and the special breakfast of the day. Our return guests ask for Gingerbread Pancakes served with poached pears, sausage, and freshly whipped cream.Another favorite is Apple and Cheese Bread Pudding baked in an individual ramekin,drizzled with homemade caramel sauce and served with a side of Virginia ham.
Each breakfast is a special occasion - seated in our formal dining room under the crystal chandelier. Juice,coffee,a variety of teas available start the event. A different kind of muffin each day and fresh fruit follow and finally the main entree. We serve between 8 and 10 but if you have an early engagement we can provide a breakfast tray for your room.
We accommodate additional guests, by arrangement, for family or business meetings.

"I stay at Bed and Breakfasts whenever I am traveling. The accommodations tend to be more comfortable than a hotel and the attention to small details to meet my needs has ALWAYS been superior to a hotel. Staying at the Hillard House in Wilkes-Barre is no exception.
Cecelia and Gordon Williams have welcomed me into their home several times when I visited family in Wilkes-Barre. I’ve always stayed in the Gold Room, but have seen the others and find they are equally appointed. Breakfast? Well, if you’ve never had Gingerbread pancakes with whipped cream and the idea of them is intriguing, you must stay here. Breakfast is always something different – you will find fresh fruit salad and the hot muffins ranging from apricot almond to strawberry coconut or banana nut…"
